About this policy

Tried & True Tutoring, LLC operates www.triedandtruetutoring.com and store.triedandtruetutoring.com. This policy explains how we handle information when you use these websites, our planning tools, registration and consultation booking, and our tutoring and testing services. It does not cover the separate Tried & True Education website.

Information we receive

Depending on the service, we receive parent and student names, email addresses, phone numbers, school and graduation-year information, program selections, order details, and messages. Families may also provide grades, test scores, score reports, college goals, and information about learning needs.

Our college and test-prep journey does not require an email address or phone number. Answers are held in your browser’s session storage to maintain the activity. The journey does not automatically send your answers or downloadable report to a director. If you separately share those materials with us, we handle them as information you provide.

Online camp-date requests send your email address, preferred exam, and timing to our team. Google Calendar handles consultation booking. Shopify and its payment providers handle registration, checkout, and payment information.

How we use information

We use information to enroll students, arrange tutoring and programs, evaluate scores, offer educational guidance, answer inquiries, administer purchases, send instructions and reminders, maintain service records, and protect our systems. Website activity information helps us understand how visitors use our resources.

School-program families are automatically added to our marketing email list. We currently use Mailchimp to send information about related Tried & True services and programs. Use the unsubscribe link in a marketing email, or contact info@triedandtruetutoring.com, to stop marketing emails. We honor that choice if we change marketing platforms. Necessary registration instructions, appointment messages, and other service communications may continue.

Website activity, cookies, and your choices

Our website providers may process IP addresses, browser and device details, page visits, referral information, cookies, and similar identifiers. Essential storage supports features such as security, access, the shopping cart, and the planning activity.

When enabled, optional Google Analytics measures visits and actions such as opening a consultation link or downloading a report. Our custom journey events do not include raw scores, college selections, ZIP codes, names, email addresses, or phone numbers. Providers may still receive device and website-activity information.

Use Cookie settings in the main website’s footer to manage its optional analytics choice. The store has separate cookie and data-sharing controls. Your cookie choice and an opt-out of data sale, sharing, or targeted advertising are separate choices. Service providers and school programs

Our providers include Wix for the main website, Shopify and payment providers for the store, Insightly for customer and enrollment administration, Google Calendar for booking, Zoom for online sessions, Online Score Tracker for practice exams and reports, Teachworks for the online portal, and Mailchimp for marketing email. Email and document-storage providers also support our work. Providers receive information relevant to their services and may process it in the United States or other countries. We may change providers.

We do not record tutoring sessions, consultations, or online exams. For programs offered with a partner school, we share registration lists with that school. We do not share attendance information, scores, or individual score reports with partner schools.

We may disclose information to meet a legal obligation or valid legal request, address fraud or security incidents, or carry out a business transfer subject to applicable protections.

Shopify Enhanced Services

Our store is hosted by Shopify. Shopify processes information when you visit and make purchases. Shopify Network Intelligence is enabled and uses information about interactions with our store, other merchants, and Shopify to provide Enhanced Services, including personalization, store improvements, and advertising-related services. Information is shared with Shopify and other providers, which may be located in other countries.

Some of this processing may be considered a sale or sharing of personal information, or targeted advertising, under certain privacy laws. How long we keep information

Student and customer records currently have no fixed automatic deletion date. We keep records for service administration, ongoing family relationships, accounting, legal obligations, and resolving disputes. You may request deletion by contacting us; some records may need to be retained for legal or service reasons. We keep limited unsubscribe information to avoid restarting unwanted marketing. Provider systems and backups may have separate retention arrangements.

Children under 13

A parent or guardian must complete registrations and inquiries for a child under 13. Children under 13 should not register directly or submit their own contact information through these websites. Contact info@triedandtruetutoring.com if you believe a child has provided information directly without appropriate parental involvement, or to ask about information held for your child.

Privacy requests

Contact info@triedandtruetutoring.com to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information, or to stop marketing emails. Jonathan Mallaley receives and handles requests at this address. Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have additional rights, including rights concerning data sharing or targeted advertising.

We may need to verify your identity or your authority to act for a student before fulfilling a request. Please do not email payment-card details or unnecessary identity documents.

Security and policy updates

We work to protect the information entrusted to us. No website, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. We will post policy changes with an updated effective date and provide further notice when required.
